Consistency request
« on: August 04, 2004, 06:45:01 PM »

Hi!

aMule rocks, just a teensy request : try to use the standard fedora core RPMs for wxGTK, i.e., wxGTK2 and wxGTK-common. I develop code using wxGTK2-devel and it conflicts with your rpms. Please take it into consideration for the FC rpms.

( FYI, the "official" wx RPM's for FC2 are at this location : Tettnang FreshRPMs for wxGTK )

If aMule "fitted in", users can have a consistent package database. Thanks for reading!

the problem is that fedora's are modified, same as suse's same as mandrake's, etc.
So they become incompatible with aMule's, which is 100% compatible with the _official_ wxWidgets libraries.
Greetings!

RPM's for Fedora must use Fedora's wx libs - isn't this obvious ? Unless they changed API in a way that mule can't compile.
Same thing apply to suse, debian and .

I know, this isn't fare :) but install must as simple as possible

OH, sure. They could. but as they modify the libs, amule becomes slow, cpu hog, mem leak, and unstable.
