LowID again - it should work but no
« on: April 21, 2005, 02:39:31 PM »

Hi. Searched about this and read a lot. I'm using FC3 Linux and D-link router. I explain my case in steps:

1. If I don't use the router and I enable 4662:tcp and 4672:tcp from FC3 firewall everything works fine. If I use router it doesn't.

2. I have tried to configure the router with these instructions from the manufacturer:
D-link emule instructions
D-link open ports
Please check these - those instructions are very simple. I opened ports 4662:tcp , 4672:udp, 4771:tcp, 4665:tcp. I checked the IP-address for the configuration from the http://www.amule.org/testport.php. This is the right IP-address?

3. Eventhough amule worked fine without router with 4672 opened (from FC3 firewall) as tcp I also tried with 4672 opened as udp. I also opened the other ports (from FC3 firewall) that I opened from the router.

4.http://www.amule.org/testport.php reports for example for port 4662:

Quote
Error: TCP port 4662 is unavailable. Make sure your firewall or router is allowing/forwarding this TCP service port and your ED2K client is running (i.e. aMule, eMule).

Detailed Error Message
TCP Error 110 Connection refused

Explanation
The connection timed out, meaning the port is being blocked or incorrectly forwarded by a firewall or your computer is turned off :)
It's the same for other ports too.

What am I doing wrong?

Thank you for any help.

Ok. No need to help anymore. I was using wrong IP-address. Apparently I used the main IP address, which defines my connection and I should've used the "local" IP-address, which defines my computer after the router.
