Slow speeds with Linux"

Amule vers. 2.0.1-1

Whether I use mldonkey or amule I rarely get speeds above 2-5. With Overnet i could get 120-150! What's happening? I have tons of servers hooked up.

I have NAT'ed port 4661 TCP and 4672 UDP in my router.
Allowed the ports through my firewall (guarddog/IPtables) to the relevant PC.
My ID is usually around 4000739046.

I would appreciate it if someone with Kick-butt speeds would share the relevant parameters of his setup.

I miss Overnet BIG time! THAT one did the trick

yes, it speeds up sources finding a lot

and once you have some credits you'll get same dl speed as in overnet....

Do you understand what a credit system is? Your speeds are slow because you have little to no credit. Build up credits and watch your speed increase...

Hello again.

This is most definately NOT working out. I have a 128/2,5 Mb pr. second connection and my speeds have dropped to near zero after running sort of ok for a while. It says on this site, that setting your upload to more that 10 kB/s doesn't limit your D-load speed. I set mine to 13. And uploading is exactly what get's you credits right? The download speed is set to 256kB/s.

I gotta be missing something crucial here...

I miss Overnet  :(

You should lower your upload speed to 10KBs because the overhead bandwith (i.e:comunication to other clients and other clients to you) wich setting upload speed to high can cripple you downloads....
How many files and sources do you have in your downloads?
You should choose the files that are equivalent to your search and download only the ones that have many sources......
