LowID in Ubuntu, not in XP

Since when I've started using Linux (2 months ago) my choice for the eMule network has been aMule and since then I always got a LowID warning, no matter what server I logged in, no matter I disabled firewalling into Ubuntu & my ADSL router (a ZyXEL Prestinge 650H-E1), no matter I NATted all ports into the router for this computer.
If I run eMule from Windows XP everything is fine.
Wth else can I try?
Please don't tell me to do a search 'cause I did it and after 2 months I still haven't found a working solution.  ;(
Oh and I have a dynamic Internet IP address.

is the xp and ubuntu machine the same computer or a differnet one?

if its the same machine, do they have the same ip address?
ir its not the same, did you setup different ports in e and aMule and natted them to the different pc?

Yeah well honestly speaking XP and Ubuntu are on different machines. :P
This is how my LAN looks like:

Router: 192.168.1.1
Ubuntu: 192.168.1.2
XP: 192.168.1.3

aMule (Ubuntu) with Razorback 2: 195.245.244.243:4661
eMule (XP) with Razorback 2: 195.245.244.243:4661

In both aMule and eMule options in the Connection panel I see 4661 for the TCP port and 4672 for the additional UDP port.
In my router in the NAT options I choosed the range "All Ports" <> "All Ports" for both machines.

First of all you need to run amule & emule on different ports. And then you need to explicitely forward the ports used by amule to the machine running amule.

I've heard this before and it just doesn't make sense. You can only tell a router to forward incoming packages on port x to ip address y, not to forward it to "all computers". What might happen here is that your router uses UPNP (I've only heard about this, so I might be completely wrong) and emule supports UPNP as far as I know. So emule is able to tell the router what he has to do, amule isn't. You'll have to do it manually.

eMule does not support UPNP, tho some mods do

 I do not run them at the same time otherwise I get banned from the xMule server if I make multiple connections

I've only three fields available:
  • Start Port No.
  • End Port No.
  • IP Address
therefore I suppose I've to insert the Port range 4661-4672 for the IP 192.168.1.2, right?
If yes, I tried that too and I still got LowID for the Ubuntu machine.

Nope, UPnP is disabled in the router due to security reasons. ;)
I forgot to say that I get the same problem with Azureus (Torrent client)

you cant forward teh same port to two diffrent ip address taht does not work

cahnge the range completly

xp 4662-4672
ubuntu 5000-5010

and then adjust the port settings in aMule-prferences and restart amule afterwards

I set the router and aMule.
aMule tells me now that it cannot connect (timeout).

Well, I think I did it right. ?(

Start Port: 5000
End Port: 5010
IP: 192.168.1.2 (Ubuntu)

Start Port: 4662
End Port: 4672
IP: 192.168.1.3 (XP)

Also I choosed "SUA Only" in the NAT options.

Wait a second.
I restored back the settings to 4661-4672 in aMule & the router and now I've a HighID!  8o
Well I dunno what happened. but thanks anyway.  :baby:
