Upload speed too low
« on: January 23, 2004, 01:45:13 PM »

1) In the amule 1.2.3 I am using the "max" per channel upload is set to 20k.

Why is the max per channel upload spead so low??
It is a max so why not 100k, then I can reduce it I need to.

2) And the number of slots is set to 5.
On my system on average 2 slots are busy just connecting. As result I only have 3 slots "running" full speed.

This should be a selectable number of slots. For me I would need about 10, to keep the upload pipe full.

3) I have not looked at the code yet, but it seams the upload backoffs too much when it reaches the max channel upload.

Just a feeling.

Currently I am using about 5% of my available upload spead.

I'm not sure but maybe with the setting in preferences->connection->slot allocation you might be able to reduce the wast of bandwidth...

I am going to take a look at the source. And just increase the current "restrictive" limits.

max 20k per slot -> max 40k per slot
5 slots          -> 10 slots

That should still leave me with lots of up going bandwidth for voip.
