Your nickname in aMule? Sure. You are recognized by your user hash, which is unique. So changing your nickname will not have any negative effects.

I thought so, but wasn't sure. Some people keep stealing my nick name. Yesterday two at the same time. I'll change and try to figure out the trick. I just don't get it. Maybe you can tell me ? Thank you.

The trick is that thereare some mods with a "nick thief" feature, which clones your nickname when connecting to your client. Why do they do this? because there are some emule mods which shared more based on community tags, so if your nick had the community tag, you were uploaded more bytes than if you didn't have the tag, so this stupid mod steals your nick just in case you have some tag that can grant more download.
