« on: August 01, 2007, 08:20:26 AM »

I'm a new user - sorry if the question is trivial...
I am unable to find where to set the max number of files to download, can you tell me where to go to set it???

thank you!

Hi alexxx,

I'm afraid there's no such option. There are options to limit the number of sources per file and the number of total connections (see Preferences->Connection), but I don't recall any option to limit the number of files to download.

thank you for the quick reply!
It's a pity this feature is lacking - I use aMule (patched Adunanza) with an Airport Express base, and I noticed that as I start downloading more than >~7 files, it crashes the Airport.
So I was hoping to be able to set download max=7 files at any time.

Oh well, I hope it will be considered as a useful feature in  future releases!

Thanks

Ale

Oh, in this case:
Your problems are too many connections. Lower the value for max. connections to about 250 and the sources/file [hardlimit] to maybe 50, depending on the number of downloads.

You can stop downloads in the list as well, so they remain in the list, but won't be active as well.

I've found the problem is not the maximum amount of connections, but connections/5 secs. I set connections to 600 (no problem) but if I set connection/5 sec over 5, the router will crash. Not using an airport, but a netgear, but I guess it's the same.

Regards.

sorry, but I cant understand what it is connection/5 sec - is it some option I cannot find?

You can find this option in the Perferences->Core Tweaks

I'll tweak it and let you know.
Perhaps it could be the basis of some "fine tune" section in the docs, depending on the kind of router people uses.
