whole computer shared? ed2k links library?
« on: September 30, 2007, 01:58:05 AM »

I'm wondering why under preferences-->directories (the area that says shared directories), every single file folder on my computer is listed as shared? I would like that not to be, lord knows what integrity problems it might cause (u never know). Thing is that wheras in eMule a right click presented a list of options, right clicking here enables recursive sharing.

How do I stop that. The only shared files shown are those that are in my shared file directory, where aMule is d/ling, but still, if it didn't say my whole computer was shared that'd be cool.

I also wondered if someone might be able to tell me where a good library of ed2k links are at? I found some on the web, but they are very limited. only a few hundred entries and let's say a few hundred -20 are uninteresting to me thus far.

any suggestions?

You will see your whole directory tree there, but that doesn't mean your whole hard drive is shared. Only directories in bold text in that tree are shared. As you say the only shared file you see are the ones in your shared directory, I think none of them are in bold, so no other directory will be shared.

Hi,

Please take a look at the files sharedir.dat in your aMule preferences folder (e.g. /home/user/.aMule ). Delete all unwanted lines and aMule will stop sharing unwanted files.
