yeah me too I had to delete my Torrent apps to see if I could "free up" that port

I can't access these ports manually?
i wish i coudl go into my mac and look at the usage each and Every available possible port and adjust this one in particular to which ever application i want on it at a given time......

I'm on a G4 powermac running Os 10.4.10
so far i'm getting miserable results and it appears that I have to "farily" upload and DL well i'd like NOT to Upload  at all as i share my internet and when any apps in my comp upload it's made VERY Obvious to teh other user elsehwere... but downloading isn't an issue... my ISP I have wondered  wether or not they are bandwidth shaping but for now they too are having issues but I ahve noticed that when it IS running  well ( download-wise) upload is Almost deleiberately stuck :(

I was using Xdonkey but ulike Amule It didn't provide me with hints like amule has upon installing this  so I have half finished files sittign elsewhere and now starting them form scratch on Amule.....

it's been since november the OP has posted and with no response?

* hint hint *

cheers

Well, if you'd like not to upload you might as well close the application.

Firtsly thaks for responding and no Second, I'm not interested in Uploading if my signal is thus bad... Xdonkey wasn't working the only reason I switched over is because Amule ( during Installation ) gave me another piece of information about the port in question...

You're response is  typical of just Attitude and i dunno why You'd bother responding if you're not going to extrapolate and offer somethign useful....'there are reasons WHY I am avoiding uploading ( as i experiment with these applications you're disinterest rom your posts makes me feel i should just up and open another Forum altogether

Really!

Go ahead. This is a file SHARING application. If you're not going to share, why do you think you are entitled to download?

Go ahead. This is a file SHARING application. If you're not going to share, why do you think you are entitled to download?

I'm Entitled because of PRECEDENCE! There are other file sharing apps that do this.. Look, we're getting off topic here and tempers are going to flare... ... My issue has little to do with wether or not I upload, but that my Low ID is the  concern.... I've run torrrents before, and i have NO problem sharing my meager 2Tb of Files!
but in my experience with these kinds of Apps Seems that they've  ( by precedence ) been able to adjust both incoming and outgoing bandwitdh with little consequence to user... This meant that I could share files when the second user on my lines was not online  and that when they werre, i could adjust these settings so that they couldn't complain about slow activity... basically i need these settings restored so I can be as i was 2 months ago... when everythign was fine, my ratios elsewhere were also in "good standing" ;)

My Sharing Ethics have little to do with LOw Id, poerhaps i shoudln't have brought them up, perhaps i shoulnd't have given you such a "cavalier" attitude about the subject from teh beginning as i returned with an unfair cna catty counter rehtort. But it's really little to do with Sharing and much to do with Low ID......

I hope this clears up my soddy behvaiour/attitude on this matter and makes my intent more... transparent ;)

Cheers

My advice: Talk less. Focus on the problem on hand and don't start to talk about things which are not related to the topic. This will improve your spelling as well.

OK, for  the low-id problem there are usually three possible reasons:
1. You have a firewall blocking aMule.
2. You are behind a router/NAT and the ports are not forwarded.
3. Your ISP is blocking certain traffic and/or ports.

Please give us more information about these 3 points so we might help you.

1. firewall disabled
2. Ports Forwarded
3. ISP reports that their clients are all dealing with slow/poor/off and on signal/service since the ISP has changed management ( but we're not supposed to know that much)  <_<

Basically I'm SOL but, I just wanted to be sure it wasn't Amule.

Thankyou

OK, please try a recent developmental version and activate Protocol Obfuscation. This might solve your problem.
