I have looked at every single MFN setting in the preferences and I can't find the default player setting in amule

I'm running gOS version E (yeah, I know, linux with training wheels, really if I could get ubuntu to load to a gui I'd use it) on a via pc1 MOBO

is there a command line script, is this a bug, am I just plain stupid (wouldn't be the first time) is this really not frequently asked?

I'm just looking for the answer, amule pops up a dialog every time I launch a video file from within the app saying that I need to set a default player

I'm totally cool with that, even though smallNsoft seems to have the default file registration thing down. I don't care about having to tell it, I just need to know how

yep, that's what I read all the way through without finding the video player preference

It seems odd that it wouldn't be with the browser preference setting in "general" but it seems to be not there at all, anywhere

I'm assuming that it will have to be manually added to a config file, but I don't know the equivalent to an ini file in linux yet

could also be that you have to install mplayer before you install amule or pay the penalty

could just dump the install to try (gosh, how am I going to re-activate my copy of gOS? oh wait, I don't have to ;D)

Hi rynther,

Could you please make a screenshot of the preferences dialog without the video player setting? Which version of aMule is that?

The config file is ~/.aMule/amule.conf where ~ is your home directory, i.e. /home/user and .aMule is a hidden directory.

kind regards

Edit: Mh, lag when typing on an almost 10 years old PC can obviously cause double letters...

actually, I think I just found it in the directories preference

sometimes it takes reading more than once, go figure

I need to find the file path to mplayer, but that is not really bad, I should get to know where stuff lives anyway

BTW amule 2.1.3 and thank you both for the assist
