mp4 as video file?
« on: July 07, 2009, 11:22:16 AM »

Hi,
I see that amule recognize an mp4 file-type as audio file.

could be better to associate mp4 to video? or both?

I think usually mp4 file are video(and audio) not only audio like an mp3 or others.

what's your opinion?

CUT

What do you mean with "amule recognize an mp4 file-type as audio file" ? In file types on search pages?

i think so.
Never tried yet, but in "shared files" section I see mp4 files as audio file.

Maybe i'm wrong, but i think that most of people expect a video from an mp4 file instead of an audio-only.
If more mp4 files are videos then just audio, my suggest is to change the file type to video.

The better, imho, is to include mp4 file-type in both search type (audio or video).

ps.
sorry for my bad english

edit:
modified the topic title...

Your English is just fine (like most people's who say that btw).  :)

eMule list mp4 as video, so I second your request.

You have commit rights. I think you can change it. (I'm currently on Vista, so I can't.)

OK, done.
(And merged the rest of eMule's media types, and the comments, while I was at it.)
