I just installed Amule on Ubuntu 10+ and when I do a search for torrents in ISO hunt etc and save to Amule nothing shows up in my download area of Amule?? I have to do searches from Amule itself to get anywhere.

Also when I tried to open a completed download I was told to use Mplayer in preferances which I did and it opened and played however after it played the file disappeared from the download and I have got no clue where stuff is being saved by default.

Any advice please?

Thank you

billathome65, you are hijacking this thread...
(maybe a moderator can split this off?)

aMule is not a bitorrent client.
For downloading torrents, you need to use a bittorrent client,
which is included in Ubuntu. (applications > internet > Transmission BitTorrent Client).

correct.

In aMule, go to Preferences > Directories and you'll see where downloads and temp files are stored.

billathome65,
please refrain from posting the same questions in different threads.
To view where your downloads are saved,
in aMule, go to Preferences > Directories

Sorry about that  ;D

It's saying /home/bill/.aMule/Temp

Can I create a folder on my desktop and redirect to save there?

Plus I set the default torrent client to Amule in bitorrent but it says save to Amule desktop ???

regards Bill

Sure.
in amule, click on the "browse" button in Preferences > Directories
and select the folder of your choice.

aMule is not a torrent client.
Instead, use Applications > Internet > Transmission BitTorrent Client
then download to desktop (for example)
