separate gui & core

i dont know how tight they are tied together but i know wxwindows has a non gui port, it would be awesome to have a client with separate gui & core for linux which isnt written in such a strange language like mldonkey is.

the xmule2 team is writing such a thing... actually a full rewrite of the edonkey core, and they want to make it possible to have plugins for other p2p networks like mldonkey has.

but thats quite different from amule - which is just a WORKING xmule fork - so gui and core are 1. I think its hard for the ppl writing this to seperate them.

Within months (might take even a year) I think there *might* be a p2p with plugins & sperate gui/core that *works*, let it be xmule2 (or the new name they are choosing) or something else, then I think amule is obsolete. but 'till then its the best p2p for edonkey on linux...

So - I dont think they will seperate the core & gui in amule. But I might be very wrong

what do you mean?

I guess you want to tell they should seperate - but I tried to tell they shouldnt - instead concentrate on getting this thing better. Get mldonkey or xmule2 (sharedeamon) for seperate core & gui...
