Advanced editing the upload queue
« on: November 06, 2005, 05:08:05 PM »

I think it would by nice if the upload queue could be more widely modified by the user. I'd like to, e.g., give more than one upload slot to my frineds, change the priority of a shared file also to other multipliers, etc etc.
Thanks, Gio

This is a question of fairness  and at least the emule-devs only accept this with a 1:3 ratio enabled.

I'm just curious, what do you mean with 'other multipliers'? Do you want to have more settings like 'Release', 'High',...?

Err? Last time I checked the policy was "One friend slot, not more, and we're not even happy about this one." So this won't happen ;)
(Actually we're allowing even more "friendsharing" than emule does, because our minimum number of upload slots is 2, emule always has at least 3. So amule can give up to 50% of its total upload to a friend while in emule it's 33%)

It's not in the official emule (there's just one friend slot like you describe it), but some 'clean' mods like the Morph XT allow multiple friendslots with a session ratio of 1:3.
It is mentioned here http://www.filesharingweb.de/mediaWiki/index.php/English:ZZratio as well.

Mods? What's that?

We follow the oficial development.

I just wanted to point out, that multiple friend slots would be allowed with this restriction (I don't even use one, I don't waste my time with sitting in front of my aMule ;) It works fine without looking.), but I guess your answer means NO.

My opinion:

put a damn server FTP and send file directly!!!

p2p is NOT friend slots. Friend slots will kill file sharing...  X(

Yes, you're right. And better, the option to allow you to enter the number you want!
