hello,
I am running a yesterdays cvs on a getoo 2.6.13-gentoo-r5 Kernel.
Compilation produced no errors and  I had the same problems while using amule 2.0.3 and 2.0.3-r4 right out of gentoos portage.
I'm using wxGTK2 v2.6.2 (unicoded)

So my Problem is, that whatever i tell amulegui under perferences, it doesent affect a change of the perferences of the amuled. The same problem with the webinterface.
An Exampe: I want to set the Incoming and the Temp folder.
So I started amulegui, connected without errors, amuled says:
amule-remote 0x0001
Access granted
Now setting the dirs to /mnt/data/amule/incomming + .../temp an close the amulegui.
But amuled still uses the folders ~/.aMule/Tem + ~/.aMule/Incoming.
Thats not a woder because in the amule.conf there are still the ~/... folders.
But why? sholdnt they be changed to my new olders?
What amulegui did is a change of the folders in the file remote.conf.
May I'm stupid an didnt get the system, but why are there entrys for this folders in remote.conf ? I thougt this file is just a configuration for the gui...

Thats just one Example, all perferences changes dont work. changing the BWLimits for ex. there is no effect at all (neighter in the amule.conf nor in the remote.conf <== here there are no entrys at all for BW, whats right from my point of view)

My first suggestion where the file rights, but have a look (I'm running amuled and amulegui as user ydear):

Ah, just want to say, up/downloading works fine an changing configs with amulecmd (for ex. changing BWLimits) works fine, too.

You can not operate on paths remotely. The remote gui displays options but silently ignores your settings (by now).
The reason behind it, is that remote gui may run, well, remotely. And we have no ability to browse your folders remotely.
Think about it: you using ~/.aMule/ from another account on another machine. What "~" should resolve to ?

Yes that is clear to me. But i knwo my machine, i need no browsing (I even didn't try to browse).
Will you mean that it is planned, that i should edit my folders manually?
Why isn't it said somewhere? why does the gui let me change the folders and says "all right boy, done"
Is that a good useability? ((Is not meant in a ass kickin way!))

And whats abut the other perferences?
I also can't change my bandwithlimits for examle.
