"Connexion perdue" sous SuSE 10.1
« on: August 08, 2006, 01:56:25 PM »

Bonjour,

Merci.

Is the Firewall correctly configured? SUSE has a preconfigured firewall which blocks the ed2k ports by default. You have to open them first before getting a reliable connection.

Where do these packages come from? Which wxGTK version does it use (visible in aMule's logfile)?

Actually, I don't believe that something like this can be distro specific. Maybe you might want to try my package, it uses the latest wxGTK version.

The origin of the package is not that important, it's the wxGTK version what matters. You can use "amule --version" to check it, it should say "using wxGTK2 v2.6.3".

Do you have a HighID? Constantly lost connections are often caused by a LowID. Check aMule's logfile ($HOME/.aMule/logfile).

I just installed aMule + wxGTK with your packages and I have the same error message "Connection lost".

Here is the result of the command "amule --version" : aMule 2.1.3 using wxGTK2 v2.6.3 (Unicoded) (OS: Linux)

I think I have a LowID because I route the eMule ports on my desktop computer, but I have a LowID on my laptop computer too and it works great...

Here is the logfile :

You should really fix your LowID. Trust me, you won't believe how much better it will be after doing that.

Actually I don't know why one of the system connects fine without these ports being forwarded and the other one doesn't, but I'm quite sure that it will connect fine and be much better in general once you forward the ports correctly.

How exactly do you route the ports currently? It looks like you are using the desktop computer as a router: In which way, which software is installed there, how is it configured etc.

I have a Linksys WAG54GS and I forward the ports 4662, 4672 (UDP), 80, 21, 10000, etc. from my public IP to their equivalent on my desktop computer's IP.

Is it possible to have a HighID on several machines with the same public IP ?

Yes, but every machine needs different ports, e.g. one 4662,4665 and 4672 and another 6662, 6665 and 6672.
