file .emulecollection & amule: full support?
« on: August 30, 2006, 01:32:57 AM »

HI,
i've noticed that amule doesn't support .emulecollection files.
In emule this kind of file is automatically (more or less) managed by the app.: emule identify the files of collection and immediately put them in download.
With amule the only thing i'm able to do is opening the emulecollection file with notepad and copy address manually (by cut&paste) one by one. The problem is that this method doesn't work, for istance, with japan collections: in fact notepad doesn't manage japanese symbols and turns them into Occidental font..and if i try to use this address amule say me  "ERROR......"

Is it possible to fix this?

I don't have any experiences with non-western encodings, but have you tried opening the file in a different text editor (like BBEdit/TextWrangler or SubEthaEdit)?

Also, you don't have to copy and paste the links over to aMule one by one, you can also save a list of the links  (with one link per line) as "~/Library/Application Support/aMule/ED2KLinks" and aMule will import them automatically (that's how I import most of my ed2k links to aMule).
