schedule for transfer limits
« on: September 04, 2006, 03:26:17 AM »

i use aMule on my LAN network and we have gaming hours (no p2p downloads allowed), work hours (when people from outside use services on our server, p2p should be limited) and normal hours.
the problem is i'm not always in front of computer to hit Alt-F4 or change transfer limits.

my idea is to extend "Connection" tab in "Preferences" to allow to specify time period and transfer limits. for example:

1700-0200 - disconnect completly
0200-0800 - full speed
0800-1700 - UL limit =64kbps, DL limit = 512kbps

or something similiar, doesn't have to be complicated.

thanks for your attention :)

The best solution for your situation would probably be to set up cron to run amulecmd at those times. amulecmd allows you to change bandwidth limits, disconnect, shut down aMule, and a whole bunch of other things. :)

that's how i do it now. but GUI to setup it will be more comfortable than creating cron entries
