If you're using Firefox, do the following:
[list=1]
  • In the URL field enter the command about:config
  • Right-click on the list ==> New ==> Boolean ==> and enter network.protocol-handler.external.ed2k ==> set the value to true
  • Once again right-click on the list ==> New ==> String ==> enter network.protocol-handler.app.ed2k ==> value is /usr/bin/ed2k
That should do the trick. ;)

Than try to substitute value /usr/bin/ed2k with the path to "ed2k" file on Windows. Of course, I might be mistaken about the "ed2k" file. I only used eMule on Windows.
