That's good, since aMule is soon going to be used on so many different platforms.

Anyway, here's a quick try for aMule with GNOME icons. All icons are from Jimmac's website. I know, the Transferss' one isn't too good, but it the closeset I could find that goes somehow with "Trasnfering..." :D

hi,

I've just found the attached screenshot in this thread and want to ask if it's possible to give amule this fresh, modern, next generation, svg-ish look? ;) imho the toolbar icons look much better this way!

really good but wx doesen't support svg and also the common image handler isn't so good, infact the current image are a bit screwed on the edges

What surprises me most, is the fact that all authors keep same order of toolbar icons. Which, IMHO is quite screwed.
Amule feature left-to-right layout. This means, that most frequently used icons must be on the left. This is the reason why button "Open" and "Save" are leftmost icons in ALL editors, doesn't metter what data being edited.
Similary, "Transfer" and "Search" are most frequently used. Overall, if we sort icons in order of usage frequence we'll get something like
Transfer, Search, Statistics, Shared,Chat,Setup. Import should not be there at all.

Why not start using users' icon theme?
like other gtk apps do, why not import icons from system theme?
...only if really needed (ie. for win/OSX users) give at least a default theme.

btw...
a classic-like theme (using tango icons)

a personal theme (using custom-tango icons)

refer to this: about Tango

(feedbacks are more than welcome)
