Installation on Mac OS X
« on: March 07, 2004, 09:38:06 PM »

Hello,

I have read the aMule works on Mac OS X and tried to install the current distribution on my machine, following the instructions at http://www.amule.org/amule/howto.php, but I always have compilation errors.

I am a newbie at wxGTK, wxBase and related libraries and perhaps I am missing something.

Could someone who has successfully completed a Mac installation give me a detailed description of the dependencies needed on this system?

This would be great - I am looking forward to using aMule and these installation problems are very frustrating:-(

Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi!

No you're not making something wrong. It seems the whole port gets delayed, maybe due to the change to berlios too.

Probably you tried the 1.2.6 version, but nevermind, the latest developer (=cvs from berlios) version doesn't work too.

configured without any option, the process results in a compilation error in amulecmd, configure --disable-amulecmd leads to an error (missing endian.h), configure as suggested by hoschy (configure --disable-amulecmd --disable-gsocket) results in a missing endian.h too.

Up to date hoschy is the only one claiming he/she got it working in os x, but he got some additional help from Kry (at least he himself says so).

Greets, Sarge

And it will fix all the endian.h problems.
