I recently downloaded what appeared to the disk repiar utility program I was looking for. After Stuffit failed to open it, with the message that it was neither an .rar file as 'advertised' nor even a compressed file, I finally managed to open it, only to find that it was a Quicktime file in .aiff format called 'Ischemic Heart Disease'. Quicktime opened it as a sound file, with just 'white noise' on it.
Should I leave such misnamed 'bad' or misleading files in my aMule download folder for sharing, or remove them straight away, so that others do not waste time on them, as I have? [I don't wish to leech.]
Is there any way for me to determine which client originated this dud file so that I can put it on a blacklist not to trusted for more downloadable files, and would it make sense or not to take such a step?
Thanks.
Nick
