Hmmm first all the BigBang/ByteDevils servers and now all the DonkeyServers. Makes you think and realize that how important central servers are and the vital role they play when it comes to searching/caching/indexing file hash/tables. This is why we need cental servers and decentralized KAD can't ever replace or pick up the load efficiently. Its so slow that it takes forever to cache your own file hash/table and will take hours to get any sources to start uploading from you.
Hell there are people still connected to DonkeyServer's 2, 1, 5, 3, 6 and 4. Razorback 3.0 and 3.1 is stable but allows only max 500 files. Also can't say much about performance or safety of these servers: UseNeXT, usenet but it has the highest number of user's connected to it. There are other servers that is sex related like: FreeOsex, FreeSexBay, ifreesex, sexytiv. They are to busy trying to promote and sell you something.
With all these news servers popping up how safe are they? and who is hosting it? is a big safety issue to me. While all these major servers BB/BD/DS dropping can ED2K efficiently pick up the user load with remaining servers? As we saw after BB/BD was removed DS couldn't pick up the load even when the server capacity was not full yet was resetting and getting unstable.
What is the future of ED2K? or do I need to go back to GNUtella/UseNET?
