When aMule for OS X Leopard?
« on: December 12, 2007, 02:39:16 PM »

Hi everyone!

I'm a recent user of Mac, before that I've been using eMule with Windows XP. Which works reasonably OK, but now I can’t with OS X. So I would try aMule. But there’s not a specific version for OS X Leopard and I’ve heard that the Tiger version doesn’t runs OK in Leopard. So my obvious question is: are we going to have a version qualified for Leopard soon? Please guys, comment it if you are in the same situation or no one help us...

Thanks for your help, and sorry for my rude English (I’m Spanish)

Hi Kry,

Well may it should, but the thing is that it doesn’t... And you can check that, because we're so much people with the same problem. Anyway, thanks!

There are users who complain about the firewall on Leopard - aMule obviously works for them. Yes. On Leopard.

If the purpose of this thread is to help _you_ getting aMule to run, then please tell us so and we'll give it a try. But complaining about something not working based solely on and I’ve heard that without actually testing or telling us how it is not working (won't start, won't connect, lowid,...users are creative when saying that something is not working) so we could help you to solve this problem won't help anyone, ok?

PMSL,

To say you are both the designers of aMule you haven't got a clue about its workings on Leopard.

NO!!!

aMule DOES NOT WORK on Leopard that is why when you download the zip file it says "Tiger only", doh!!!!!!

I have Leopard and have tried to get it working by all means (including firewall) as suggest by you Kamray and guess what?!   Does not work, now there's a surprise!!!.

Come on guys get is sorted.

Vielen Danke

If you want it sorted, then follow the wiki, and compile aMule for Leopard. That would help a lot of people. probably. If instead, you are the kind of person who complains about knowing nothing about computers and will not compile aMule, then just allow remote access to your computer to an amule dev so he can figure the problem (if any) and solve it. Or you could also donate a Mac mini running Leopard so developers can test properly aMule. But certainly writing the way you are doing will not help you getting help here or anywhere. And next time, also use the search function in the forum:

Regards.

BTW: Who the hell is karma???

I actually have leopard. But aMule is ok on Leopard, so why would I bother? The only reason it says "Tiger only" is because it's not compatible with MacOSX BEFORE Tiger.

I can't say I like your attitude.

Hi !
I have MAC MINI (Intel C2D) with Leopard (upgrade) ,  Amule is not started at all.  At once an error message and emergency end. Tried to use Rosetta, had a identical problem. At Russian forums I already met the description of a similar problem and have been assured, that it is known for all. Now I so do not think.

The problem is solved. I have switched the first system language from Russia to English and after all became good. Now  aMule work normally.
