aMule NOT connecting!

Just installed aMule 2.2.5 on Mac Osx  running Tiger, Still haven't been able to use it as it won't connect to any server.

Earth icon on bottom right has one orange and one yellow arrow around it indicating "low ID" I assume. "Up" arrows are both red. Have no idea why.

Tried the tips in the forum to add the amule app to the MAc OSX firewall "allowed list", and also tried these instructions

to update my router firewall and allow amule to function. NOTHING.

I'm running out of ideas here and my computer literacy only allows me limited space to move here   :(

What does the port test tell you?

If you use a router you should check your IP address and see whether its actually the one mapped to your MAC address.

If this doesn't help you should provide a little bit more information about your config here.

thanks for your interest.

the test says all good!

i followed port foward's instructions (in post above) to set my router to accept connection to my amule TCP and UDP ports.

To chose the right computer i looked up the computer's IP adress in network settings, then chose the same number on the available list in my router's interface. at that point i created a new clearance for amule in my router providing TCP and UDP numbers, and then linked them to my computer. basically i did exactly what this link http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/2wire/2701HG-B/eMule.htm
told me to do.

Still nothing happened, amule connects to  no server and arrows are orange and yellow at all times. as mentioned above i created a new item to be allowed access by the mac firewall , and linked to the amule app, still nothing happened.

i don't know what else to say... thank you!

Just in case... do you have any servers in your server list?

yes i updated server list multiple time, i think there are 33 right now

Well that is way too much. I don't think  that there are more then a bunch of servers around.

Try these urls in the "Networks" section of aMule. Copy them into the textbox at the top and press the play button on the left.
Servers (X): http://gruk.org/server.met.gz
Nodes (Y): http://download.tuxfamily.org/technosalad/utils/nodes.dat

Then reconnect.

Try changing the port. The port test should then of course fail, because it's not open on your side. After that adjust the port on the router and try again.
