cvs from 17-4-04

Hi!

Compiles flawlessly. However starting it results in a white window only, hdd working endlessly.

Maybe amule is hanging in a indefinite loop?

Hi sarge,
no help for your problems - but you seem to know how to compile from cvs... :-)
could you explaint to me, what steps are needed to compile amule from cvs? I know how to download the source via cvs, wxMac and everything is ready too, because I can compile amule from the tarball, but I think there are some extrasteps involved before ./configure  etc. like bootstrap :-) or what the hell if I get the source from cvs. Am I right?
Any hint is apreciated.
Thanx!

Hi!

The whole thing is rather simple - but only if you know it ;-)).

For the whole process, look here:

http://www.amule.org/amule/thread.php?threadid=617&sid=

If you have the source-tarball already, you just need to run ./autogen (needs a recent version of gettext! You have to compile that one for yourself, since the fink version is too outdated.)

This creates all needed files. Now you can treat the sources just like a release (./configure --with-your-options, make).

But it seems cvs isn't updated at the moment. Even yesterday I got no updates to the cvs from 17-4...

Have fun, Cheers, Sarge

Thanks, that was just the needed info I was missing. Got my amule from cvs working now, I will fiddle around a bit and post again, if I find any _unreported_ errors :-).
