can't access downloaded files
« on: February 07, 2010, 12:22:02 AM »

Hi, amule has downloaded some files for me, but when I go to shared files the progress bar has turned red again and it seems as though amule is trying to redownload them again and I can't access them. If I go to  incoming  files the downloads are greyed out and can't be accessed. What do I do? How do I set file manager to show hidden files. I am using Linux Mint 8. Thanks.

Once downloading has finished,
it may sometimes take quite a while before they are really finished,
even though it says "100%".

To view hidden files, first go to the directory where the files are
(your desktop, or home, as thats where the aMule files are)
and then click on the "view" tab (next to the "file", "edit", "history" and "bookmark" tabs)
and opt for "show hidden files".

You mean the indicator below the header "obtained parts"?
That does not mean that you are downloading the file again,
just that currently nobody is downloading this file from you (I think).
After a while, when somebody has been downloading that file from you,
some of that red will turn into blue.

BTW, its there where you can verify what the exact location of your downloaded files is.
Enable the "Directory Path" header by right clicking the column headers and opting for "directory path" option.
Then take a look at the path that is contained in the column for that specific file you are looking for.

Your disc is not full, is it?

Hi RRM, did what you said and tried to enable directory path, but it won't allow me to. I can't tick the box. It won't let me!

If you use a filemanager that has an addres line, just enter .aMule at the end of your current path. You don't need to make this change permanent.

Thanks for the reply. I use Linux Mint 8. If you could supply a few more details, that would help a lot.

Open your filemanager, go to your home, click into the end of your adressline that says "/home/<user>" and append "/.aMule" then press enter and you'll see the configs and the incoming and temp dir.
