tray icon not working
« on: July 20, 2010, 09:05:41 PM »

err, I'm on Arch Linux with kde 4.5 (note that the version of kde is not influental) and I noticed that the tray icon is not working, sometimes it does not show the black bar for download, sometimes it shows it but it does not match the real download speed (as it is blocked).

I don't get you. What is blocked?

There's a black bar indicating the download speed, and it doesn't work...

Ok, I'll try to explain better. Perhaps this is a bug or a feature request, but I noticed only in kde.
Amule's tray icon sucks.
It is shown in tray icon area as a white square with the amule's symbol (so no transparency or similar). Moreover the thin black vertical bar near the amule's symbol (the mule face) in the tray icon, which should be intended as a way to show download speed, is blocked. Sometimes it is full and I'm expecting a full download speed but I discover all files are completed, sometimes there's no bar (and so it should mean that there's no download) and I discover that I'm downloading at full speed...

Actually this bug is present in KDE only (as far as I know), and I believe it is more a wxWidgets bug than an aMule one. Or not. But that's for sure.

The wrong background instead of transparency is acutally a wx-widgets bug. The download bar showing wrong values is something new though.

Perhaps is connected. Is there a way to solve this bug? perhaps compile amule with another version of wx?

I don't know the internals of wx-widgets. You are welcome to try it and please post back the results if you did.

development version is 2.9.0, I could try compiling with it if there are chances to make it work...
