aMule v.2.3.1RC2 in openSUSE 11.4
« on: October 22, 2011, 01:33:48 AM »

Welcome to the forum.

The first compilation under linux, and full of success:) I can not imagine life without eMule-MorphXT and aMule. Morph have memory leak under WINE  :-[
I decided not to wait for someone to have mercy and ready to do the openSUSE development version of aMule rpm, and when will the final, I do not know.
I added the repository:
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/X11:/wxWidgets/openSUSE_11.4/
zypper in gcc gcc-c++ make bison flex binutils-devel gettext-devel GeoIP-devel wxGTK-devel zlib-devel libpng-devel gd-devel libupnp-devel libcryptopp-devel
./configure --prefix=/usr --enable-optimize --disable-ccache --disable-debug --enable-geoip --enable-webserver

Code: [Select]
Configure script has finished system check.

  Configured aMule 2.3.1rc2 for 'x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu'.

                             wxWidgets             2.8.12 (gtk2,shared)
                             crypto++              5.6.1 (installed, in /usr)

                             zlib                  1.2.5

And it works. I have only one problem (and the question), I do not know whether the result of compilation.
In the download at the bottom of the window, I only see download. I can not switch to: send/well-known clients.
In what may be the problem?
Q1. At the bottom of the tab bar with the program I saw aMule 2.2.6 version, and now aMule - Up: ...
Q2 - How turn on plasmaMule plasma-applet
Q3 - I can not write to friends, I understand that it is responsible for XChat2 plugin, how add it?

Q1: Right, as the up-/download is more imntresting to see than the version, this has been changed some time ago.
Q2: You need KDE and QT development packages for this and --enable-plasmamule your configure line.
Q3: This is just a plugin for XChat, to send statistics to the channel. It doesn't influence the chat function of aMule. You can enable this with --enable-xas on your configure line.

Thank you for your prompt response  ;)

Q3. Cleared up.
Q2. I'll try to test it. The openSUSE KDE is the default and on such work. I don't like gnome, perhaps because they remember the times windows 3.11, as it reminds me veryI will try to do it  ;)
Q1. Ok., good idea

So the main remaining: Where is the send window, known clients ...
Thanks

You can see the data related to uploading your shared files in the shared files tab.

That's right, this option I like, but in the download window I see 2x download, I can leave the bottom window. There is no changing the icon in the bottom window: send / all clients...

Is this a normal condition in the new program or an error?

The warnings all come from different packages then amule. If you got to this point, everything worked, and you should be able to activate the widget from the Add Miniprog menupoint of your kicker.

Plasma-amule work, hardly legible, pixels in picture but work  :D

This version (2.3.1rc2) is seen by other clients as 2.3.0.

Code: [Select]
The bottom window shows the clients of the downloads which are selected in the upper window. That's right, unfortunately, to see what currently is being sent, I have to check 700 files in shared files, I do not see a whole queue.

Select "Show clients for" "All files" on top of the window and sort by "Upload status" to see the queue.

This version (2.3.1rc2) is seen by other clients as 2.3.0.
Sure, because the network protocol doesn't support sending the "rc2" part of the version number, we'll increase it to 2.3.1 only for the real release.

I found some time to test amule, since then only send.
I added a file to download and after 2 seconds to shut up. The situation repeated itself the next time and add a file to download.
Do not know much about finding bugs, but if someone willing to submit tips / link to what I can do on their own, to help develop aMule would be required.

Thanks

Sorry for my English.
I had a few directories to make share/available aMule. I compiled RC2, worked a few days, sending files (only). There was nothing to download - empty. Pasted ed2k link, jumped onto the list of downloads. After 2 seconds aMule suddenly disappeared / shut down. I turned it on again. Connects in 2-3 seconds, begins to collect and 1-2 seconds after it turns off again. I had quickly after turning on to delete a file to download, so do not shut up again.
