aMule doesn't start
«
on:
August 07, 2004, 11:41:02 AM »
I installed aMule, started it - it worked ok for the 1st time. When I exited and started amule again, it didn't started. I tried to start in command line:
[user@PC user]$ amule
Initialising aMule
Userhash loaded: 1FC11C112B0E7E8E55DEFC3C013B6F01
*** UDP socket at 4665
*** TCP socket at 4662
*** UDP socket at 4672
Aborted
[user@PC user]$ amule
I tried 2 reinstall it, having erased all wx* packages, but it didn't help.
The strangiest thing is, that aMule do start from root:
>su
>amule
this will work, but under normal user it doesn't work.

i think the problem was - i made some preferences wrong, while using it for the 1st time - that is why it didn't start 2nd time

I had that problem after installation of Xmule.
I had Amule runnig perfect before that.
I think the problem started after I configured xmule to use KDE 3.2 shell integration.
This feature was not been accepted in Amule.
Sorry for my bad english.

Hum? aMule has already KDE 3.2 integration much sooner than xMule had, mainly because xMule took the code from aMule, as usual.

So, I should delete the /emule folder in my Windows drive after installing amule on Linux in order to avoid crashes at start.!!! Is this true???
