2.0 and fedora core 3...

Hi,
apparently one has to build aMule 2.0 RC7 from sources to get it to work on Fedora Core 3.  8o
I wonder if the final 2.0 will be available as binary in rpm for FC3?
What is the schedule for 2.0 final?

.. 2.0 final .. maybe this year, maybe next.. who knows ;)

the schedule is: "make it stable and as feature rich as possible" ;)
about FC3 binnaries, there are no amule.org official FC3 binnaries yet, since our packager is very busy with personal stuff this days and he told he would be unable untill next week (so expect it soon ;)). Anyway, if no problems arise for him again, this will have been an exception and next releases will have thier packages on time :)
BTW, there are unofficial packages at Forum -> Help somewhere on a thread there, you could try them ;)

Upgraded to FC3. Installed FC3 pack, amule keeps crashing every 5 minutes.
Any ideas ?

Please compile aMule yourself untill and official amule.org package is available (the one currently at amule.org was a package contributed by a user)

Tried to compile aMule myself. It's still crashing. Just to let you know that the problem is probably deeper than just compilation. Will try to recompile wxGTK

wxwidgets bug then. probably they are linking wxgtk 2.4.2 to gtk2 isntead of gtk1.2. Many distros are doing this, which is stupid, and brakes wxwidgets, but they don't care a d*mn.
Try compiling wxwidgets too (remember to uninstal wxwidgets previously or you'll have libraries conflicts).

Please report your results. there are many fc3 users out there with problems. it is quite important to know what's the o¡source of this problems.

Actually I'm using wxGTK-2.5.3 and not 2.4.2 since that's the version that came with FC3 pack.
2.4.2 also caused me some problems, but the one that I reported here referrs to 2.5.3
So... should I use 2.4.2 or 2.5.3 ? In case of 2.5.3, should I link it with gtk 2 or 1.2 ?

wxGTK from FC3 pack is linked with gtk 1.2 BTW.

i recommed you to link wxgtk 2.5.3 to gtk2 since it was developped having gtk2 in focus. anyway, I'm stuck to wx2.4.2 so I can't talk from the side of the experience, only from hte "guessing" side ;)
about 2.5.3 or 2.4.2? well, 2.5.x branches consume much less cpu in most cases and are nicer. also, more aMule features are availabel there (mostly internal features but some are user-friendly). Choose whatever :P
