IMHO gcc3.0 will not compile template code amule have

hmm
well what distrie are you using?
since with 99% of teh distries tehre is just a package you need to install. so basically tehre should be no need to compile gcc

and lfroen is right, use atleast gcc 3.3 with amule

ps. theres a gcc rpm for suse/mdk/fc/rh, gcc deb for debian, gcc tgz for slack etc ..
