no. eMule works in windows. in windows there's a central registry (the windows registry) where every file extension has an app associated. in Linux there's no such thing so no, you can't open non-media files. in fact, you can't even open non-video files iirc

There's an up-comming X standard which covers the mime file-types. if it becomes popular enough in some time, maybe aMule could begin to implement it. but right now, that is far away IMHO ;-)
