welcome and congrats as our 3000th user  :D

the only problem i see there, is a missing gd-lib .. u can compile it yourself ( dl the tarball from http://www.boutell.com/gd )  or install gdlib-devel (or libgd-devel?) package if ur using some rpm-based linux distri

or use --disable-cas and you don't need gd anymore ;)

cheers

ps. we have 2.0rc8 - why compiling rc7 ?

I see the problem and there it is:

root@thepostmana aMule-2.0.0rc7 # emerge gdlib-devel
Calculating dependencies
emerge: there are no masked or unmasked ebuilds to satisfy "gdlib-devel".

!!! Error calculating dependencies. Please correct.
root@thepostmana aMule-2.0.0rc7 # emerge libgd-devel
Calculating dependencies
emerge: there are no masked or unmasked ebuilds to satisfy "libgd-devel".

!!! Error calculating dependencies. Please correct.
root@thepostmana aMule-2.0.0rc7 # amule
bash: amule: command not found

And it is the same with aMule 2.0.0rc8

1. never run amule as root ;)

2. compile amule with --disable-cas and u don't need libgd-devel

3. try: emerge gd

your wxgtk installation is broken and u can't run make install when make didn't finish ;)

show me the output of:

ls -l /usr/bin/wx*

and

ls -l /usr/local/bin/wx*

ps.. configure and make as user, make install as root ..

-rwxr-xr-x  1 root root 4864 Dec 27 00:40 /usr/bin/wxbase-2.4-config
-rwxr-xr-x  1 root root 5057 Dec 27 00:40 /usr/bin/wxgtk-2.4-config
root@thepostmana aMule-2.0.0rc8 # ls -l /usr/local/bin/wx*

ln -sf /usr/bin/wxbase-2.4-config /usr/bin/wxbase-config
ldconfig
