Helping VLC support .PART files
« on: December 28, 2004, 02:38:07 AM »

Hi there!!!

When I was on windows, I could preview my .part videos with videolan (VLC) player, wich had a plugin to preview incomplete files skipping the parts of the file that weren't downloaded yet.

Well, on eMule's site they still have a plugin, but I think for version 0.72, VLC is now on 0.81 and also the plugin they have is for windows.

My question is, could someone port it to linux? aMule would be great with this!!!!
Here's the source of it!

Just a thought!! I' would do it, if I knew how....

The I recommend you use MPlayer - The Movie Player (http://www.mplayerhq.hu/)

You can preview .part files with it and with no special plugin needed.

vlc can preview teh part aswell ;)

thing is the plugin makes taht the black parts in the movie file disapears, so you dont get only "holes" iinbetween your preview...
