Hello,
My main use for aMule is sampling music before I purchase it on vinyl. I'm a DJ and spend hours and hours every week looking through titles, new artists, etc. Since there are about a million places where I see vinyl for sale--online and in real record shops--I have to remember why I'm downloading given tracks; once a track downloads, if I decide I'd like to buy it, I need to recall where I saw it on sale, possibly at what price, what condition, etc. It's too much to remember, especially given that many tracks take days to download. Right now, the only way I can accomplish this is by maintaining a separate text file with notes to myself... this is pretty cumbersome.
It would be awesome if aMule let you keep private notes on each download. Further, since some files span multiple downloads (different bitrates, etc.), it would be even better if you could select groups in the search screen and attach a single note to the whole group. The easiest way would be to create a new note (a la "e-post it"), and attach it to as many files as you choose.
This is something which I think wouldn't take a great amount of additional development. In fact, I'd be interested to work on it myself except I only have a few more days before I get back to school, which sucks all my time dry (engineering :/).
Does anyone else think this feature would be useful?
Dom
