Use % progress indicators in amuleweb?
« on: January 18, 2005, 10:45:24 AM »

Well am just now trying out amuleweb and it seems to be running well enough and the gui looks quite nice. However,I dislike those fancy, hard to read,multi-coloured progress bars and would prefer the simple(and less space consuming) percentage progress indicators. If this were made an option in future releases,I would be quite pleased  :)
Oh and btw you might want to make the need to copy the src/webserver and src/aMule.tmpl into the home amule dir a bit more obvious as I can't remember seeing it anywhere in the wiki and this prevented me from using amuleweb for a long time.Better yet would be to have these files install automatically on 'make install' if webserver support is configured

Thanks

well you cannot do it automatically, since amule connot know from the 20 users on the system whihc one might use amule and whihc one might not.

but in the webserver howto on the wiki there its said right in the beginning where to get teh files and where to put them.

with the % thingy I aggree..good idear

You already have it - it's green bar above multi-colored progress bar. Clicking on "Progress" will sort downloads by %% complete

Black magic option,thats a good one :)
I rather have percentages because it is simply easier to read,as a green bar extended to a certain distance is rather "vague" and doesn't give me a very accurate picture of where things are.I also would rather this because I run at a low resolution and part of the screen has to be horizontally scrolled to see everything, which is a little annoying. Also this is slightly offtopic but is the unreadable search with unicode bug  being worked on? I'm considering dumping the gui completely as using amuled/web results in much lower cpu usage and, somewhat less memory which gives me a lot more room to run resource hogs like emulators/games and vmware. Also it may be my imagination, but I seem to be getting a lot better speeds since using amuled, which is a major contrast compared to the way things were with amuled a month or so back....I am probably imagining things though,as I can't see how speeds would be any different considering they are the same thing, correct?

No, you not. There was serios bug fixed in amuled which prevented it to run in full speed.

As far as I remember it was fixed on CVS some two or three days after rc8 release.
