amule don't start (also on FC3)
« on: January 23, 2005, 09:53:47 PM »

I installed amule using the RPMs on FC3.

When starting amule for the first time it crashes immediately.
I attach below:
1. the output of amule after the crash
2. the output of the debugger (gdb)

it seems that the problem is the same posted in this forum some days ago by StralisActiveSpace but he has Suse9.2.
can you help me?

i tried to remove the file .eMule but nothing changes
the output of
# rpm -qa | grep wx       is
wxBase-2.4.2-1
wxGTK-common-2.4.2-7
wxGTK-2.4.2-7

# rpm -qa | grep aMule
aMule-2.0.0-rc8_fc3

thanks!!

hi,

uninstall:

wxGTK-common-2.4.2-7
wxGTK-2.4.2-7
aMule-2.0.0-rc8_fc3

install:

http://www.amule.org/files/download.php?file=25
http://www.amule.org/files/download.php?file=26

and reinstall http://www.amule.org/files/download.php?file=45

should not crash anymore now ;)

cheers

thanks a lot!!!

now aMule works.

the problem is that videolan 0.8.1 now crashes (segmentation fault) while it was working with wxGTK-2.4.2-7

do you think i can try some intermediate version of wxGTK (for example 2.4.2-5)?

thanks again

    wxBase-2.4.2-1
    wxGTK-2.4.2-4.1.fc2.fr
    wxGTK-devel-2.4.2-4.1.fc2.fr

well the kernel does not really matter ;)

do

rpm -e wxGTK-2.4.2-4.1.fc2.fr wxGTK-devel-2.4.2-4.1.fc2.fr aMule-2.0.0-rc8_fc2

and then go to our dl page and install OUR wxGTK and wxGTK-devel and again our fc2 amule rpm!!

after all 3 packages are installed, restart amule
and it should work now
