Amule Does not start
« on: January 24, 2005, 07:45:50 PM »

Hei!
I installed recently Amule via rpm packes. It ran for one day perfectly. But then it just didn't start anymore.
From the konsole i got the following error message:

Saving userhash: 55C4C124CE0E421B9FBBAF0248336FBC
Userhash loaded: 55C4C124CE0E421B9FBBAF0248336FBC

Abgebrochen

Maybe someone had the same problem and can help out. Thx

try to delete your .eMule file from the home directory.
I mean teh FILE!! not the .aMule dir!!! ;)
when done restart it and tell me if it worked, if not post

rpm -qa | grep wx

Thank you. But how does that actually work?  And why is there an Emule-file?
I just ask because as I installed Amule for the first time and ran it for one day and didn't touch my computer at all. I mean if this is the solution must I be afraid that the same problem will occur again ?

the .eMule file is the global setting file it comes from old lmule days.

and the error shoudl just come once, when you did an upgrad from early versions to current versions. it should not come again.

Amule works fine with your advice but keeps crashing once a day. It just shuts down without any error message or at least it is not obvious. Is there still help available?

Thank you for quick replying. I did that and restarted Amule. Hope it works now. As far as i know those commands verify the packages, but what do they actually?

When I hit those commends the following message appears:

gonzo@linux:~> rpm -qa | grep wx
wxBase-2.4.2-1
wxGTK-devel-2.4.2-1
wxGTK-2.4.2-1

gonzo@linux:~> rpm -qa | grep aMule
aMule-2.0.0rc8-1

Does that help?
