Afaik wx doesn't support contexts yet, so the only possibilty would be to change the source string for now. Let's wait for GonoszTopi's opinion on the matter.

There have been reports already (some slavic language, I don't remember exactly). I'm aware of the issue, and will eventually be fixed. I think it will be in the next major release, most likely 2.3.0. Maybe (well, if there will be any) 2.2.3 will have it too, but that I just can't tell now.

It needs a lot of research, which word is used in two(or more) different contexts, which has to have different translations, etc. If anyone would do the research, providing a list of ambiguous words (for example in the form of a .po file), that would definiately speed up context-sensitive translations entering aMule.

What's the "captha test" and how does it work?

Or, to be precise, what does user supposed to do when he is asked to "Enter Captcha"?

A Captcha (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Captcha) is a picture with a text and the user has to enter the text inside the picture. This is easy to do for humans, but hard for computers and is supposed to prevent spam with the internal message feature.

#, fuzzy
msgid "Asturian"

The Austrian language is German. Germany, Swiss, Austria share a written language, although German television puts subtitles when Swiss people speak...

Asturian is the local language of a region in Spain. (See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asturian_language) There are 4 official languages in Spain, a number of smaller languages and a number of dialects even Spainiards Spaniards have problems understanding. In most cases it's like Belarusian or Ukrainian and Russian, i.e. communication is possible.

Thanks a lot for your work, I appreciate it a lot - your asking questions shows that you value high quality translations.

I have committed your svn translation, but there were some problems with the other translation, because we didn't supply you with a current file.
I don't think we will have a 2.2.4 release (there are no bugs so far which would merit another stable release), so any more work on it is probably not necessary. I'll attach a merged, up-to-date translation file nonetheless, but I really don't think you have to work on it.

It is sufficient to post only updates to SVN in the future. All translators will be notified in time for an eventual release and changes to the translation process due to a new stable branch will be announced after the release.

Thanks again.

Yeah, and the Swiss re-translate German television (now - what's the word if you replace the speaking in a movie with a different language? The Americans don't do that, they just remake the movie. So I'm not sure there is an English word.). Ever seen German kiddie series "Löwenzahn" in Schwitzerdütsch (Swiss-German) ?  ;D
I also remember a German starlet from Bavaria (which is part of Germany) who had to be translated too or the northern Germans would not have understood a word.  ;D

I've wondered about that Asturian too. Is it an idiom like our Bayrisch, Schwäbisch, Sächsisch or a true language ?
(And don't tell the Americans about Asturian - they are already confused enough with Austrian and Australian.  ;) )

Stu: 'synchronisieren' is 'to dub' in English.

According to wikipedia, Asturian is a distinct language. But it is very similar to Castillian (Spanish) and has been considered a dialect in the past. Here's an "unfair" comparison, which uses mostly identical vocabulary. The text is from the front page of softastur, a project for software translation into Asturian.
Quote from: Asturian
Un problema col que nos topamos al traducir software n'asturianu ye la falta d'información pa testos téunicos n'asturianu. Por eso y pa evitar confundir al usuariu de distintes aplicaciones, vamos tratar de consensuar un estándar pa los términos más comunes nel software (file, edit, view, etc...). Esti estándar decidiráse por votaciónes na páxina estandarización de términos. Pa poder participar en votaciones d'esti tipu ties de tar rexistráu enantes d'entamar la votación.

(I'm not a native speaker of Spanish, but it should be mostly correct.)

Ok, she does have some point about English country names...  :D
