aMule Connections Settings
Jacobo221:
Many people are still asking about what are the "ideal" connection settings for aMule (Preferences -> Connection).
Well, this is their thread. Let's put here our working settings and system/connection description so they can have a reference.
There we go!
Jacobo221:
aMule version: 2.0.1-CVS
Computer: AMB K7 2400+ (256MB RAM)
Connection Type: DSL 512
ISP: Telefonica
Upload limit: 10KBps
Download limit: unlimited
Slot allocation: 2KBps
Hard Limit: 150
Max Connections: 350
Max new connections / 5 secs: 5 (This is in Preferences -> Core Tweaks)
Notes: Makes other apps using internet become slow when I have LOTS of files in queue (by "LOTS" I mean more than 200)
phoenix:
aMule version: latest CVS
Computer: AMD Athlon 2600+ (1GB RAM)
Connection Type: ADSL 256/128
ISP: Telemar (velox)
Upload limit: 10 KBps
Download limit: 18 KBps
Slot allocation: 3KBps
Max Sources per file (Hard Limit): 200
Max Connections: 300
Max new connections / 5 secs: 5
Obs: These settings let me browse the internet while aMule is running. Notice that the uplink speed is important. If you put your upload limit too high, you damage your download capacity because the TCP acks will slow down.
