Limiting uploads

I wondering if anyone could show how to limit hom many uploads I can have at one time. I share heaps of files and at the moment of writing this post I have 20 uploads in progress and about 40 in line.  Because of got so many uploads going on at once eveyone is sitting on extreamly download speed. I would like to limit it to about five so that the people downloading will have a resonable download speed.

Also could some explain downloading credit for me?  give me a link. Thankyou in advance guys.

Take a look at the preferences->connection.
There's the option 'slot allocation' which should affect the number of slots and the upload speed per slot exactly like you want.
