Low ID please help!

I really hope that someone can help me as I've been trying to figure this out for weeks now but can't.  I have searched the forum but can't find any suitable advice.

I'm using a Netgear DG834G modem / router and I've gone to the aMule wiki, followed everything about port forwarding but have no luck in getting a high ID.  I manage to get one green arrow but that's all.  I can never download from anyone because of this.  Please, can someone adivse me on what I have to do?

I have UPnP turned on.
I have followed the instructions on the wiki.
I am configuring IPv4 using DHCP.

Also - please see this picture:



You'll notice I have an IP address of 192.168.0.2.  I have the ports forwarded to this address, when I forwarded them to the router address of 192.168.01.  Is this the correct thing to do?

If there's anymore info you need then please say as i'd really like to get this sorted.

When you said you managed to get one green arrow, which of the two arrows on top of the world icon (at the bottom left of the window) did you mean? The bottom-left arrow stands for the eDonkey server connection and the top-right arrow represents your status for Kad connections. In order for the Kad arrow to become green, it sometimes takes a few minutes.

It was the bottom left one, lionel.

With the info I've given, have I set up everything correctly, including forwarding the ports to 192.168.0.2?

It's gone green now.  Thanks for the help, although my downloads from others arent starting....

Another query - under the preferences - connections tab it says under Line Capacities Download and Upload boxes but under it it states that these values are used only for statistics.  Does this mean that if I set the download limit higher it'll have no effect on my download speed?

Very good, then it seems like your router is properly set up. :)

Since most ed2k clients are queue based, your download usually doesn't begin right after adding a file to aMule. You first need to make your way to the beginning of the queues of the other clients that have parts of the file you are trying to download. That's why it's best to run aMule at least for 8h straight. You'll notice that your download speeds will improve once aMule has run for a few hours. Ideally, you run aMule 24/7. See also aMule is slow.

The up- and download settings on the left side (under "Bandwidth Limits") are the real ones that limit your upload and download speed. The ones on the right (under "Line Capacities") are only used to scale the axes of the graphs on the statistics page, so they don't affect your upload and download speed at all.
