How to build up speed for two files only?
« on: March 24, 2006, 03:30:47 PM »

I usually just download two large files at a time and I keep my computer shutdown at nights so it won't have time to build up to high speeds. My max download cap. is 50kbytes (out of 60kb) and usually I get 0-10kbytes/sec download speed. There are plenty of full sources for the files I download (100% dark blue. What settings should I use? I have my set my source dropping settings as follows: Send sources to any other file before dropping ENABLED, auto drop full queue sources ENABLED, high queue rating value: 999, Timer (in secs): 60. Oh, and my upload limit is set to 10kbytes and I like to keep it that way.

Basically there are two things you can do to speed up those downloads, but you won't like either...

- Leave amule running for a longer period of time (I reach my "normal" download speed after ~20h).
- Give more upload.

There's no magic thing to speed up your download.
First of all: see http://www.amule.org/wiki/index.php/AMule_is_slow

In general: Upload more to get the chance of more downloads (see credits)

Edit: Never leave tabs for more than 30 minutes opened without reloading them...

What exactly do you mean by that?

I use Firefox with tabbed browsing. When I came home I visited my daily pages and opened all new things in tabs. Because I read some articles in a web paper time went by and when I was back at amule I answered to this thread, but the same answer was already given about an half hour before...
Sorry.
