hi folks!
i expected beta, but amule seems to rock !!!! thank you!
-----------------------------------------------------------------
all i hope is you guys (maybe including me in a few weeks) will take over the dev leadership from emule one day. wxwindows rules!
ok, here some feedback after 30min of use of 1.25 with a stock wx2.4.1r1:
(probably i'm using gtk2 with disabled unicode. (gentoo stable default)
if you suggest i will add wx-dontusegtk2 or whatever the flag was and recompile wx & amule.
but for now it seems to be stable and needs only very low cpu and mem)
1.
if you cancel a download, while you have the opportunity to click ok, all other downloads are hidden in the transfer-window. after you clicked ok they are back ok.
2.
if you sort downloads by priority you have to click the sort button twice after revisiting an already sorted download, since by collapsing the download it becomes unsorted regardless of the correctly displayed sort arrow.
(probably OnExpand just needs to call OnSort too. or such)
3.
if you sort by priority with lowest queue numbers atop current downloading clients should be even atop of the queued clients. (say by having a negative queue position)
4.
click on UPLOADS should switch to QUEUE
(ok, you have it on the right mbutton, but..)
5.
for some reason only the default tcp port gives me a high id.
(the nondefault port a few 100s away did produce lowids only.
iptables firewall was flushed of course. realy!)
now i use the default port with iptables filtering and it works.
but i dont like defaults !!
6.
the statistics windows are in the 'wrong' order :-)
(this confuses, and helps nobody is my opinion)
7.
i had an empty met file from emule, and this download
(at 0 bytes in emule) was not imported to amule.
all files from this download were deleted. (met part bak)
but this is not for sure. the first few starts of amule i had to tweak
directory permisions and stuff, maybe it got deleted by amule during
such a dirty run.
8.
file details:
as default the source names should be sorted by use, not by name.
most frequent on top.
9.
the following was printed the first time i started amule ever:
(without ~/.aMule and with readonly permissions to the income and temp)
(amule:677): Gdk-CRITICAL **: file gdkdraw.c: line 644 (gdk_draw_drawable): assertion `src != NULL' failed
i
and a suggestion: i would like an configure option to mask amule as
emule of a certain version. nobody needs to know which os i use.
(would this confuse emule?)
just my 2c. hope it helps!
good luck with this project!

Hello,
Just a feedback of an other gentoo user.
First, there a lot of bugs specific to gentoo for amule, u will find them i m sure :)
Second, wx compiled with GTK2 is NOT supported, so u need at least to emerge it with -gtk2 in USE, and much better, compile it by yourself by following DeltaHF how-to.
But ur right, amule is rock !!
