Title: Can't search Chinese filename in amulecmd and amuleweb
Post by: wcliao on July 12, 2006, 07:36:49 PM
Hi,

I am running amule 2.1.3 on FC4. I compiled amule/WX myself with unicode and nls enable. Everything works well on the standalone amule. I can search/list/view files with chinese characters without any problem. However I encountered some problem at amulecmd and amuleweb. In amuleweb, I can see chinese but I can't search by chinese keywords. In amulecmd, none of them seems work. Can anyone help me on this?

    Sincerely yours,

I don't have any specific experience with this, but both web browsers and command shells have a notion of the current character encoding.  You should make sure they are both UTF8 so the chinese keywords you're entering are encoded in the way that aMule/amuled are expecting.

AFAIK EC has problems with that...

Russian and hebrew works fine last time I checked. I'm not very match expert in utf/unicode, but IMHO if 2 quite different languages works, conversion code must be ok?
It may be chinese specific problem (in wx or encoding code) but I have no idea how to check that, since my chinese is quite limited :)
