Hi,
I've installed aMule 1.2.6 but now it crashes after a few hours (3-4 hours)!
So I uninstalled it and reinstalled 1.2.5 and it's stable again for now 13 hours. So I seems to be buggy? ?(
I don't know if so, but it seems to be.
I will reinstall it and make a backtrace, so it's possible to see why it chrashes. Hope this will help to solve the problem.
Greetings

mine is running since 14 hours (mandrake binaries)
-
I have gentoo linux 1.4 (stage 2).
Installed aMule from DL page (tar.bz2). Compiled fine without errors.
But after 3-4 hours it crashes. It not only freezes, crashes completely and is even not in systray anymore.
Backtrace says: NOTHING... ;(
It's like I closed aMule myself...
Does anyone have an idea?
Greetings

I have Gnetoo Linux too, with kde3.2 and amule don't show the transfer queue. Someone have the same problem?? It's avoid fonts?? or kde 3.2?? (i don't think)

@methril: g to preferences,tweaks,set the refresh slider to realtime.
-
It's the most rapid forum!! :D
Thanks

FC1 binaries crashes as well.
I'll downgrade to 1.2.5 for the time being.

Hi
Since I installed Amule 1.2.6, I cannot see downloads and uploads list but queue is OK.
Back to 1.2.5, the same problem persists... 8o
I have not seen such problem in this forum...
Anyway, amule is very good job, runs fine, almost no crash :baby:

Thanks for this tweak. I would like to test if aMule use less CPU when setting refresh rate to a higher value. But when I do that, the list only appears one second and then disapear untill the next refresh. Is there a way to have a freezed liste between intervals?
-
hi Fade,
it w'll be fixed (1.2.8 or smth) .. atm Kry is porting all important things from eMule 0.30x that we miss in aMule (securehash is done, but we miss still proxy etc ..)

go to your preferences -> tweaks and set refresh dl/up lists to realtime
then go to your transfers window, right click on your dl (open the dl menu) and click show lists

Add the tip to your signature :PP

nah.. posted 100 times on forum already.. better to add the search button in my sig ;)
-
So I will even downgrade...
It's still unstable and crashes. But I think I know where the problem is. When finishing a file (filesize doesn't matter) it crashes.
So the completing file bug seems to be there again... ;(
Any ideas?

I'm running 1.2.6 since it's released and completed lots of files - without errors.
-
yep, lot of them on my side. Are you using gentoo or what? :P
-
I'm a Debian user and I'm having the same problem using the official Debian binaries in the unstable distro.
I've just modified the sources.list to use your's binaries (deb http://gunnm.org/~soda/ unstable main contrib) and see if something is going to change.
-
which 'same problem'?

This problem. But now it's running from about... 6 hours without closing but when I reopened it from the tray it shows me just a grey window, without buttons, text & co However it is still working (read dowloading/uploading) as I can see from network activity.

I have downgraded and no problems anymore. With 1.2.5 everything works fine, except the cpu usage...
@Kry: Yes you should know from other posts, that I'm using gentoo.
-
I was j/k annyway

For a while I was thinking 1.2.6 was the amule that rocks until.......
For some reason the the Gui is very slow and it does not want to load all my files in the share directory.
I have tried clearing the .aMule directory and the .eMule file. Doesn't seen to help.
I currently downloading a file, but it is stuck in the "hashing" state.
Any ideas.
Also the even when amule worked the gui was a little flacking, I would move my mouse then wait for things to happened, but it happened quickly.
-
Using gentoo?
-
I am using debian testing with a few unstable packages, like this one ;)
The thing that makes my wonder the most is why did it work find for a while, and not any longer.
Also I have 6 files to share, but it only shares the "first" three. I says it is sharing the forth, but it never does.
-
Why gentoo is so bad considered? I'm using gentoo and never had problems on compilation or amule crashes ;(

not enough chunks downloaded ? wait till amule get more from the files ,,
-
Ok, I am lost.
The files I can not share are complete and in my "load" directory.
How does this effect the GUI?
Also, I am not sure how it why it happened, but the "other" file I was downloading failed. I was forced to remove it and start again. It is downloading fine now at a wonderful rate of 40k to 90k.
I am uploading at about 60k, but I have to wait about 10s on the gui.
The cpu is under 5% and 2% most of the time.
Hmm? it seems resource starved?
What test do you want me to run?
Kind of painful to use, but I like the improved upload over 1.2.5. To bad it won't share my files.
-
did u used categories ?
-
Honestly I am not sure what categories are.
grep -i cat .eMule
SlotAllocation=30
IndicateRatings=1
AllcatType=0
ShowAllNotCats=0
ShowInfoOnCatTabs=0
ResumeNextFromSameCat=0
-
come plz in #amule on efnet network
-
Hey, it is sharing all of my files in my "load" directory.
Wow it takes over 3hrs to hash/ share each file. ~700M
Perhaps the gui will speed up after it finishes hashing. If no one else is having this problem I will assume it is some sort of resource starving. ie "death star" disk starting to miss-behave
Good night
I will do a disk diag tomorrow.
-
A little snib from my syslog with smart monitoring :(
The disk with the problem is only used by amule for storage.

I feel sorry for your disk :/

Hello,
I haven't read the hole posting. I only want to say that amule 1.2.6 is very unstable on my debian 3.0 woody. I have used the "debian.thermoman.de/" version. Amule 1.2.4 works very fine. Now I'm "googling" for a 1.2.5 debian file.

Well, it would be nice to know what do you mean by unstable :)

I Lost the contents of 2 CDs I bought in Hong Kong. But no big deal, because p2p makes a wonderful backup system.
I think the black diesel exhaust from Hong Kong mini buses is destroying my hd drives and CDs. That is 2 hds and 1 CD failed since January.
Thanks for all your help guys. Sorry for the wild goose chase.

When I open amule the gui is very slow, one klick one min waiting.
Even if I don't open the gui I get no transfer.
-
look at prefs -> tweaks and set refresh dl/up list to realtime
