Hi everybody,
since I updated Tiger with it's latest version, it's impossible to connect to my favourite servers. AMule tries to connect, and tries to connect and tries to connect .... but nothing happens :(
Kademlia runs. I use the latest aMule Version.
Anyone here to solve this problem :baby:
Thanx for any help!!

Can you tell us what kind of Mac you are using and which version of aMule?

same problem here, since update to 10.4.8 everything slowed down, safari, mail, all other programs, wlan connection brakes sometimes..
i tried to restart macos, but same problem..
when opening amule the symbol is "bouncing" for a few minutes when finaly the amule window is opened behind all other windows, when trying to get it to the front the symbol for "working" this funny wheel or whatever, appears.. unable to get to the preferences or to close is the normal way..
also when forcing closing it needs a few tries to close it..
desperate :(
stats: macos 10.4.8 on an intel 1,83 imac with 1,5gigs of ram
EDIT:
and please maybe when the developers release a new version of amule PLEASE integrate an automatic installer!!!
thank you

Do you mean all those programs have become slower, even when aMule is not running?

I don't understand why you would want that.
Like aMule, the vast majority of Mac applications is installed by simply moving the application file to the folder of your choice. This is so much simpler and faster than going through an installer. The only programs that come with an installer are usually those that either need to be installed in very specific places (like preference pane and the like) and programs (such as the Adobe CS2 suite) that copy a number of files (e.g., fonts) to certain system folders. Since none of that applies to aMule, the current distribution system is the most appropriate.

when amule is running ALL applications slow down, i cant use amule with 10.4.8 so i downgraded to 10.4.7...
its also a fact that emule is much more faster on my pc that amule on my mac, with the same settings..
im desperate, amule and mldonkey are the 2 exclusive donkey programs for mac. amule is very slow on macs, as i said and i cant handle mldonkey (you have to study IT for it...)
well
amule needs more than just one file, server met, for example, these are stored in another directory..
i cant tell how often i installed and deleted amule to get it working..

@facere
Did you try a clean reinstall of aMule, i.e. did you remove all the following files before redownloading aMule:
- the aMule application
- the amule settings folder "~/Library/Application Support/aMule" (the ~ here represents your home folder)
- the file "com.amule.plist" in "~/Library/Preferences" (if it exists).
There was a user in the German subforum who solved a similar issue by doing a clean reinstall as described above.

i think i have solved the program on my own now..
after deleting all files which are corresponding with amule and a downgrade to 10.4.0 and reupgrade to 10.4.7 amule was still slow..
i targeted some kind of problems with ressources when i have the BOINC client running- the boinc client is quite stable and works perfect with other apps simultaneously, but with amule there is a problem and the mac gets VERY slow.. after closing the boinc client everything worked fine again!
