Quite obviously, Macs love to be pretty. aMule is not. While mlMac served me a while, it was too slow. aMule was completely different. aMule was blazingly fast on my mac. As a more windows user, i can bear the gui; but some can't. I think it would be a cool/good idea to modify the gui on aMule. I don't know much C++, but i know C# and Python ... I would love to make a mockup gui pretty soon and put it up to see if we can get anything like this going.
your help would be greatly appreciated,

Forking?

Well, if you don't like the gui, why don't you just create your own gui and use it to control aMule via External Connections? The core will remain the same and you have your special Mac surface.

im not a mac developer, but im guessing you want to have a front end on aMule? the whole reason why i haven't started making a front end on mlnet/mldonkey is because its crappy. i want to use aMule ... i'll being looking into Xcode to see if i can modify the GUI. If i could, ill let you guys know how its going.
