Title: corruption if dowload is divided in more than one part file
Post by: rakalle on November 21, 2006, 01:26:55 AM
Hi, I'm a bit new with amule and Gentoo (the XboX Gentoo version called Gentoox)

I've compiled amule without the X, and a strange issue appears. After starting amuled+amulegui; if the dowload size needs only one fragment, the dowload finishes correctly, but if it is bigger (> 8MB = 2 or more fragments) it gives error after dowloading the entire file. Seems a corruption issue.

Any idea? I've not heard this before...

Greetings from Spain.
Title: found a partial solution
Post by: rakalle on November 21, 2006, 05:54:34 PM
Hi, after two days searching for a solution, I've done this:

Instead of using the fatx F: partition directories for incoming and temp directly (/mnt/fatx/f/incoming, /mnt/fatx/f/temp) I have created two loopback partitions of 4GB (the max size gentoox allows)

One is used for temp directory and the other is used for incoming. I've the 4GB bottleneck, but it works.

I can't find how to merge various loopbacks mounted into one directory for avoiding this problem. Or if amule allows more than one directory for temporary and incoming files.

Bye!

Try setting up LVM on the loop devices, designed for hard drives but I can't see why you couldn't get it to work for your situation.  Loop devices as physical volumes, and one big logical volume.
